Central Asian Exhibition in Moscow Silver Medal, 1891. PCGS SPECIMEN-61. Diakov-1061.1 (R3). Diameter: 67mm. Obverse: Crowned arms of Moscow within surrounding legend; Reverse: Bedouin caravan transversing leftwards across desert landscape, sunset in background; within ornate border. An incredibly RARE medal when offered in this silver composition and with a large diameter of 67 mm. The beautiful and intricate design is well executed, with a stunning appeal and only a light smattering of hairlines consistent for the grade assigned. As a type, this medal has to be amongst the most beautiful of all Imperial Russian Medals, and as such, there should be no shortage of active participants for this lot.
