Heritage Auctions has only once previously offered any date from this series (1766-1776) in Mint State; a 1766 dated example also in MS61, that hammered for $32,500 in 2008. This splendid current offering is delightfully choice for the assigned grade level; devoid of distractions one might expect from a coin evaluated in the lower-tier of Mint State.
