St. Georges Cross within wreath / Cross above the cruiser Varyag and gunboat Koreets, Japanese fleet in the distance. Integral loop. Instituted June 4, 1904 and awarded to crew members of the Varyag and Koreets who participated in the battle against the Japanese fleet at Chemulpo on January 27, 1904. 697 silver medals were struck. Extremely rare. Comes with substitute ribbon. Lightly toned. Extremely fine.
