Catherine II "Establishment of Provinces" Specimen silver Medal 1775 SP62 PCGS, by T. Ivanov and P. Bobrovshikov, Diakov-169.1 (R3), Smirnov-278, 75mm. PCGS has listed this example as Diakov 169.2, but this is Diakov-169.1, missing the initial Б on the reverse, above the exergue to the left. Obv. Crowned, laureate, and mantled bust of Catherine II right. Rev. Compass and book placed on a veiled table with Sagittarius above. This piece was cut by T. Ivanov in 1790. Superb bold design, with lustrous golden patina. Minor marks are noted on both sides. Extremely rare and the first silver example we have seen.
