Ruble, 1723. Red (Moscow) Mint. Peter I (the Great). NGC MS-61+. KM-162.4; Dav-1660; Bit-895; Dia-60. "Seaman" type with no initials below truncation of the bust. Obverse legend is continuous. An easily identifiable variety with characteristic dies cracks on the reverse, this piece exhibits a nice solid strike with sharp design details and clear delineation of the laurel wreath along with the monarch's hair. A thin veneer of champagne patina graces the lustrous surfaces, ultimately giving a pleasing look to this always in demand and popular type. Estimated value range: $3500.00- $4500.00.
